Review: Neverscape – Kevin Cox

Last year, I read Bewilderness and Shadowsphere, the first two parts of the Bewilderness Series by Kevin Cox. I greatly enjoyed these novels (check out my review of part one and my review of part two), so I couldn’t wait to dive back into these worlds. Thanks a lot, Kevin, for the review copy of Neverscape, part three of this amazing series!

Neverscape will be published on May 16th, 2023!

Don’t forget to already add it to your to-read list on Goodreads!

Neverscape

Neverscape is the tale of Malidora, a young woman who manages to escape the shadow realm and gets stranded in another world. She makes it her mission to stop the universe’s energy from being harvested by the forces of evil. However, the stakes are naturally quite high when you are not only trying to save one world, but an entire universe, and Malidora soon learns that there’s also a darkness within herself that needs to be conquered.

Amazing worldbuilding

I absolutely love Kevin Cox’s worldbuilding skills. In each novel of this series, he creates worlds that are so very believable that I almost feel more like a space explorer than a reader. These worlds and the universe in which they are connected are truly interesting and they all feel so real. Like the main character, I felt like I was tumbling from one world into another and I couldn’t help but want to explore every single one of them, get to understand their civilizations, and the wonderful creatures that roam them. It is as if the author started to weave a tapestry of richly detailed worlds in book one, and gradually, more and more of the final picture is revealed to the reader throughout the series.

Next to the worldbuilding, I also loved the characters and the strong dialogues. Neverscape is a mysterious, epic fantasy/sci-fi adventure that feels very multi-dimensional and that will grab your attention from the get-go.
