I’m running a bit behind with my unboxings, I know! Last time, we unboxed the October box from De Boekenbuit. This time, we’ll discuss their November box, “Be careful what you wish for”. Isn’t that the best title ever? It even convinced me to pick a Dutch box for a change. No surprises there, I’m in love with anything reminiscent of 1001 Nights.
About De Boekenbuit
De Boekenbuit is a Dutch online company offering mystery books. Each month, you can make your pick between different genres, for each of which you get some hints to guess the title.
The teaser
This is the info we received upfront:
- Limited edition hardcover
- Stencilled edges
- Foil embossing on the naked cover
- Artwork on the inside of the dust jacket
- A magical YA fantasy
- Romantic, bloody, bewitching
- Filled with intrigues and spellbinding characters
The goodies
The first item I found was a cute little wooden lantern by LegendFairy, engraved with oil lamps and the name of the box. It comes with a tea light. This suits the theme perfectly.
Next, I found a fake tattoo by Tattooday with Mandala. Nice design, but I’m really not into tattoos so I will not be using this one.
The next goodie is one I had never heard of: solid perfume. It’s very cool and smells delicious. It’s been on my desk ever since and I love it!
Then I discovered a bag of hibiscus tea by Simon Lévelt. I really need to increase the amount of tea I drink with all these book boxes…I’ve got a kitchen cupboard full of it by now. Luckily, it’s usually quite nice tea.
And then, last but not least, my favourite goodie of them all: a beautiful art print of Nahri by Adamar.art.
The book
The featured book is De Bronzen Stad (City of Brass) by S.A. Chakraborty and this Dutch limited edition is simply stunning. I bought it as a collector’s item, even though I have to admit I haven’t gotten round to reading the original yet. It’s so high up on my TBR list though, I hope to get to it this year!
Once again, a beautifully coordinated book box. Love it!
