Last week, I received my very first So Many Pages book box. I’ve pre-ordered exclusive editions in the past from them, but I hadn’t tested out one of their boxes yet as I hadn’t seen one featuring an English book. Excited to share my unboxing with you all!
About So Many Pages
So Many Pages is a Dutch online company offering mystery book boxes (with or without goodies), bookish items, books, and pre-orders for exclusive editions. Usually, they are focused on Dutch YA books but they also have a selection of English YA books and – sometimes – English book boxes.
The teaser
This is the info we received upfront:
- English paperback with signed bookplate
- Author letter
- American author
- YA fantasy
- Filled with fantasy, magic, romance, and adventure
The goodies
This will be a bit of an unusual “goodies” section as there was no spoiler card included in the box. Don’t think that will be a problem though, the goodies seem all relatively straightforward.
First thing I discovered was a soap bar with aloe vera fragrance. Unfortunately, as you might recall from previous unboxings, I’m highly allergic to solid soap, so I will be gifting this one to someone else. Really appreciated the wrapping though, so I could still pick it up to report to you that it smells very nicely.
Next, I found a box of six cubes wax melts, with the fragrance of white sage. I’ve never received wax melts in a book box, but it seems to fit the theme nicely. I will definitely try these out in my Wicca room.
The box also included a bar of caramel-sea salt chocolate (which my boyfriend will adore) and a cute magnetic bookmark that is designed by Join the Creative Side.
Last but not least, an A4 art print with the image that is also featured on the cover of the book and a postcard with symbols that I do not yet recognise (so I cannot tell you if they have a link with the book yet or not). I love the quality of the art print, it’s very thick and glossy. Somewhat of a pity that it is A4 though as my art print folders can only contain A5 prints. I will have to think of another use for this one. Could be pretty enough to display on the wall maybe.
The book
First of all, I love that the featured book has a signed bookplate and comes with a letter from the author. Together with art prints, these are the most important reasons for me to pick a book box over just buying the book at the store. The book is A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft, which is described as “The Scorpio Races meets An Enchantment of Ravens“. To be honest, I haven’t read either of those, but I’ve heard many good things about them. I quite like the description on the cover though: “A magical secret. A mythical hunt. And a love that could risk everything”. Sounds great. The blurb tells me it’s the tale of two unlikely allies joining the hunt for a legendary fox creature as a last chance to discover their place in life. Definitely caught my interest!
I loved the coherence of this box as all the goodies fit visually beautifully within the theme. I also greatly appreciated the quality of the items, and the fact that they were either usable goodies or paper items (which I collect). I would have liked a spoiler card, though. Not because it was necessary to understand the goodies, but I use them as the first page in my folder to separate each box art prints & letters. Without a doubt, this box was a huge success for me <3 Looking forward to discovering more of their English boxes <3
Hi there,
Thanks for the unboxing & review! We loved reading it. I like that you noticed the coherence, which we were really aiming for!
We always include a spoilercard/themecard in the regular Dutch bookbox, but we didn’t include it here. The reasoning behind that was that we were trying to make it a ‘light’ variant of the bookbox (hence it’s €10 cheaper 😋). We might however reconsider, as you make a valid point!
Enjoy the book!
So Many Pages
Thanks again <3
