Illumicrate launched their subscription box in November 2015. It was originally a quarterly book box, but as of February 2019, it became a monthly one. This book box is available both as “book-only” box and as a “full-box” (depending on whether you want only the book or items as well). The books that are included are either Young Adult or Adult Fantasy books.
Occasionally, the box also contains an paperback book as one of the items (so it’s not included in the book-only variant). Back when Illumicrate was still a smaller company, these paperbacks were occasionally ARCs (Advance Reader Copies). In the list below, the main monthly book is always listed first.
Note: Up until December 2024, the Illumicrate subscription could also include Young Adult or Adult Science Fiction books. As of January 2025, in preparation of the launch of Starbright in February 2025, the Illumicrate subscription box is limited to Fantasy.
Note: Up until the launch of the Afterlight subscription in 2021, some non-fantasy books were also occasionally included in this subscription.
