The Fairyloot Young Adult box of September 2022 contained a book I had been looking forward to for ages <3 Read on to discover the book and the rest of the box with me!
About Fairyloot
Fairyloot is one of the best known UK book boxes that ship internationally. They offer two types of subscription plans: Young Adult (book box with goodies or book-only) and Adult (book-only). In most cases, their featured books are fantasy books. Next to their monthly subscription, they also have special edition boxes and exclusive editions.
The teaser
This is the info we received upfront:
- Dedicated to characters that have either been on the brink of death themselves…or have loved and lost.
- This box will include a blanket and the final collectible trinket dish
- Romantic fantasy
- Set in a gothic-infused world of wealth, desire, and betrayal.
The goodies
The first goodie I discovered was a fandom neutral one (although it matches the theme of the featured book perfectly): a set of botanic coasters. I love these so much <3 I will definitely use these. They were designed by Stella Bookish Art and they are simply gorgeous.
The second goodie I found was a trinket dish, designed by Arz28. Now, normally, I am not the biggest fan of trinket dishes as one can only use so many of them. However, this particular one features Cardan from Folk of the Air. So of course I will find a use for this one <3
Next, I found a blanket, inspired by Six Crimson Cranes and featuring art by Kelly Chong. With the energy prices as they are, certainly not a senseless item. I am already drowning in blankets, though, so I will be looking to sell this one.
The box also contained the two next tarot cards, namely The Hanged Man and Death. These were inspired by the featured book and, of course, designed by Arz28.
Lastly, the box also contained a very pretty tea tin, inspired by the featured book and designed by Chatty Nora. I have become more strict for tea tins as I have so many already, but this one is so pretty it’s absolutely staying.
The book
The featured book is one I have been looking forward to for ages <3 <3: Belladonna by Adalyn Grace. I have such high hopes for this one, I really hope it delivers <3 <3 It’s a romantic fantasy about someone who has to form an alliance with Death himself in order to uncover a murderer. Does that sound right up my alley or what?!
The Fairyloot edition has an exclusive cover, stenciled edges, artwork on the hardcover, artwork on the endpapers, and is signed. It also comes with an author letter.
